We are still looking for Alumni! If you know any Camp Dixie Alumni please let them know about our reunion. Most of our older records have been lost over the years and we have lost touch. Spread the word!Camp Dixie is turning 95 years old this summer! To celebrate this landmark year, we are planning an alumni reunion for all former campers and staff members the weekend of July 31st - August 2nd.
As Dixie campers and staff, we are united by tradition and unique in our experiences. Every summer has its own special memories that are yours and yours alone. This reunion weekend is as much about meeting old friends as it is sharing our stories. While we encourage you to stay for the whole weekend, you are welcome to make a day trip just to visit and reminisce.
Campers and staff from the 40's, 50's, and 60's have already signed up for this historic get-together, and many more are expected. As may happen over the years, we have lost touch with some former staff members and campers, so you are encouraged to join our "Search Party" to help locate the more reclusive alumni.
The reunion will take place July 31st to August 2nd, 2009 and is sure to be an unforgettable experience to add to your Dixie repertoire. Feel free to invite any guests, spouses, children, and grandchildren to attend as well; we love to see smiling new faces as they discover the "Dixie Spirit" for themselves! There will be special activities planned for children ages 5 to 12, however Dixie is not equipped to accomodate younger children and we regret that we cannot make an exception for children younger that 5 years old.
If for any reason you cannot attend, we would still love to hear from you! Any alumni who have visited Camp will tell you how eager this generation of campers and staff is to hear the stories of Dixie past, not only to hear about how things have changed, but also to hear how much of it has stayed the same. Please email your unique stories and experiences to info@campdixie.org. We are still in the planning stage and your help would be greatly appreciated no matter how small a contribution it may be. Your attendance is our greatest wish, so please register as soon as possible to secure your enrollment for this celebration of the eternal "Dixie Spirit."
